The working of system Aquarius-ro is based op the principle of reverse osmosis. This is by far the most perfected water purification principle. It is used among other things in space travel and in the medical industry (i.e. haemodialysis).
By creating a difference in pressure on a semipermeable membrane, the latter starts to act as a filter. The water is pushed through a sieve with microscopically small holes. So small, that only water and oxygen molecules can pass through. Even viruses and bacteria are stopped. What rests is the purest water you can imagine, ideal for consumption and household or industrial use.
Artemis System Poseidon-ro consists among other things of these important parts:

System Poseidon-ro can be used to purify water with a TDS of up to 45,000 mg/l (Total Dissolved Solids). The system is entirely digitally programmed and is controlled automatically.
Pump system
The very high-grade pump system of system Poseidon-ro is very low maintenance and does not create pressure waves inside the system. To be able to apply the system trouble-free in both onshore as well as offshore applications, it has been designed so that it can be set up modularly. The choice of pump depends on the desired capacity.
Quality and durability
System Poseidon-ro is mainly manufactured from high-grade stainless steel and composite materials equipped with a CE certification. Extensive testing at the testing facilities of TNO has amply proven its quality. Optionally, the system can be permanently guarded with a conductivity measurement of the permeate. Electronic controls
System Poseidon-ro functions fully automatically, with the pump and the rinsing system being put into action as soon as needed. Once installed, you can rely on the trouble-free working. Furthermore, you can check the status of the system on the display of the control box.
Anti-scalant / anti-foulant injection pump
The membranes of a reverse osmosis installation can become filthy just like for example the oil filter in a car. Over time, an oil filter will become clogged and will have to be replaced. Normally, the membrane in an osmosis system would also clog up. Waste products like sodium (salt), calcium, chloride, remains of medicines etc can easily become attached to the membranes, because they are being pushed up against them at high pressure.
That is why system Poseidon-ro has been equipped with an automatic dosing system, where an anti-adhesive is added. This is a universal anti-scalant / anti-foulant, which prevents the pollution from attaching itself to the membrane. With the special injection pump, the automatic dosage is regulated very precisely. The anti-scalant / anti-foulant which being is used has been generally approved for use in the food and drinking water industry. Basically, the anti-scalant / anti-foulant cannot pass the membranes en thus will not end up in the purified water.
Anti-scalant / anti-foulant storage container
This is the container in which the anti-scalant / anti-foulant is stored. The volume of the storage container is 5 liter. In general, the container is filled to contain a year’s supply. To determine this quantity, the degree of pollution, among other things, is taken into account.
Soft starters
System Poseidon-ro is equipped with a special soft starter. This ensures the gradual start of the pump and prevents unpleasant clapping noises of the pump relay when the pump starts. This prolongs the lifespan of the pump considerably and also puts less of a strain on the electricity grid of your home.
Ball valve
The water to be purified enters the machine through a special ball valve. This ball valve is controlled by the computer and opened or closed by a electric servomotor. This happens gradually to prevent water shocks or thrusts in the pipes. This also has a favorable effect on the filters and membranes in the machine.
Rinsing system
Depending of the amount of pollution in the water to be purified, a “concentrate” of waste products builds up in front of the membranes. Because of this, there is a continuous flow of waste water during the production. Furthermore, system Poseidon-ro has been equipped with two automated rinsing systems, to be able to remove the concentrate from the membrane as fast as possible.
- After the production of the clean water, the pipes and the membrane pressure pipes are rinsed with the supply water, resulting in the concentrate being replaced with cleaner water. This prevents the pollution of becoming attached to the membranes.
- An additional rinsing system makes sure that the pipes and the membranes are rinsed with clean water if the machine has not delivered any clean water production for over an hour. Afterwards, this process is repeated every 48 hours. This way, the machine will continuously rinse itself.
Especially when no purified water is used for longer periods, this is of importance. If after some time, clean water is needed again, the machine will automatically start. So you do not have to worry about the reliability of system Poseidon-ro.
Storage container
To meet peaks in the water consumption, system Poseidon-ro can be equipped with storage containers. This brings extra advantages with it:
· With it, system Poseidon-ro can also act as a pressurizing installation, eliminating
the need for a separate standpipe system.
· You can adjust the water pressure in your home to your wishes.
· In the unlikely event of a power failure or water shortage, you will always have water
at your disposal.
· The system always has the water needed to rinse itself, eliminating the need for a
separate rinsing pipe.
· There is no need for an extra boost pump.
